What's In Store for "The Grand Tour"

Clarkson, Hammond and May are back!  Are you excited? Because we are! The days of watching the old Top Gear re-runs and sifting through media for any sign of the British trio to appear once again will soon be over.  So what’s in-store for the new series? A lot of traveling.

Since 2015, Internet rumors have teased us with suspected titles such as Gear Knobs, Shift Nuts, and other quintessential renditions.  But Jeremy Clarkson has recently confirmed, the new Amazon Prime series is named “The Grand Tour.”

“The Grand Tour” seems classy and somewhat refined, similar to antique car race.  In fact, the name fits quite well being that each episode will be filmed at a different location across the globe.  “Thing is,” said Clarkson, “we’ll be travelling the world hosting each episode in a different country, from a giant tent. It’s a sort of ‘grand tour’, if you like. So we’ve decided to call it The Grand Tour.” (1)

Continent jumping won’t make production a simple task, but in the latter seasons of the previous Top Gear, traveling to various parts of the world became a common place in the series.  But what about the studio?

That my friends will be in the form of a large tent, from which each show will be hosted under. “I already love camping,” Says Hammond. “But this is something else. We are like our pioneering and prospecting forebears, sallying forth into a new frontier of broadcasting, . . . “(1)

Of course tickets will be available, and who knows “The Grand Tour” may come to your city.  But if not, tickets will also be given away through various drawings throughout the summer season.  Regardless, if you’re planning to view “The Grand Tour”, you most likely need to tune-up your Amazon account to Prime, and wait until August for the first viewing.
