A Tribute to the '67 Le Mans Champion

Journey back in time to 1967 to the 24 Hour of Lemans race in France.  The battle between Ford and Ferrari had been waging since ’65 and Ford finally crossed the finish line with a slaughtering victory.  The winning Ford GT Mark IV, driven by Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt, has been etched into racing history putting the GT on top the podium of most desirable race car of all time.

Which is why for 2018, Ford motor company will release offer an “Heritage” edition 1967 Ford GT. “The 2018 Ford GT ’67 Heritage edition pays homage to that win, with a modern take on one of the most important vehicles in Ford’s storied history of racing.” Said Dave Pericak, global director Ford Performance.

The Heritage edition will feature a gloss-finish Race Red exterior combined Frozen White racing stripes, exposed carbon package and a racing gumball encompassing the No. 1.  The  GT will also include 20-inch one-piece forged aluminum wheels in silver satin clear coat with black lug nuts accented by red calipers.

If you’re feeling like dropping the dollar and ordering a new GT, you can use the online configuration here, but let us forewarn you of the mystery pricing and availability.  Ford as of yet has released any of that information to the media, but we’re sure it’s not going to be a small pill to swallow, Although, given the performance and enthrallment of the GT, this pill could cure any car sickened heart, on any given day.
