Carla Marie is Trying Out a New Type of Horsepower

How did you first get into cars?

It started with a love for raw horsepower at a young age. I've been training horses professionally for quite a few years now. I've always been a fanatic for powerful things, and I distinctly remember my first ride in a relatives Mustang, and being pushed into the back of the seat from the power of it. I've been hooked ever since.

What’s your current car?

2014 Camaro 1LE

What modifications, if have you done to your car?

It's stock besides a Corsa exhaust and auxiliary gauges -- for now.

Have you ever attended any events with the car?

I had big plans to get my car to a lot of events this summer, but I had an injury that set me back for a while (I had surgery on my collar bone on the right side, my shifting arm LOL).  Because of this setback, I just drove in my first auto-cross event a few weeks ago in Indiana.

I'm crazy addicted, and hope next year to attend as many as possible. I have my first track day with it on October 14th, (2105) at Blackhawk Farms in South Beloit. I'm so excited to get it out on a road course.

Besides track days, is there anything else you’re up too?

My two friends who also have 1LE's (We met through a Camaro group on Facebook) started getting together for cruises, so we had so much fun that we decided to start our own club called Midwest 1LE, (or M1LE for short). Our goal is to get many 1LE owners from around to touch bases and have a great time.

We organize regular cruises and meets, plus meet up and cruise together to events we want to attend. A few weeks ago we headed up to the Great Lakes Dragway and had a blast running our cars. We're a pretty close, tight-knit group of people, and we're always looking for more people to join our 1LE 'family.' Of course all cars are welcome, doesn't have to be a 1LE! Haha.

Also, I try to attend as many car shows as possible. I think it's great for making friends and connections. I guess you could say I try to be as active in the car community as possible, and next year I really plan to kick it up a notch.

What are your future plans, are there any modifications you plan to do?

Currently, I'm trying to find the right intake system- but further down the road, I wouldn't mind fitting a ProCharger (Supercharger) under the hood.

Do you have a favorite brand or a particular product you love to use?

I can't express how happy I am with the results of my Corsa exhaust. I think Corsa gives my car a unique and distinct sound that sets it a bit apart from most other 1LE's. I love it, and wouldn't trade it for the world.
